West Coast Promenade

The West Coast Promenade, or Zapadna obala, is a relatively new addition to Split’s waterfront, offering a relaxed atmosphere just a short walk from the old city center. This wide seaside promenade is lined with palm trees, benches, and moored yachts. Unlike the more crowded Riva Promenade, the West Coast has a calmer feel, making it a great spot for a peaceful walk or a quiet coffee break. It’s also one of the best places in Split to enjoy uninterrupted views of the old town skyline, especially at sunset when the light hits the stone walls and bell towers.

Locals often come here for evening strolls or to meet friends at one of the waterfront cafés and restaurants. It’s a good place to sit by the sea, watch the boats go by, or enjoy a meal with a view of Diocletian’s Palace in the distance. The West Coast also connects easily to other parts of the city, whether you’re heading toward the marina, catching a view from Marjan’s lookout points, or making your way back into the old town. Its location and layout make it a useful and scenic part of exploring Split’s coast.
